I loved it. Our food was delicious. Our waiter very attentive to our needs. Delicious authentic food. Clean restaurant with tasteful decor. Would definitely come again and reccomend to visit here. Easy to get to. Staff is friendly and helpful and the food is so good. Margaritas are amazing.

Boxcar is now a Greenwich institution! Serving creative American Mexican fusion for over 20 years, they are a staple for most Greenwich residents. Incredible value, fabulous service, delicious food- almost never need a reservation, and an awesome bar. You cannot go wrong here, and you will be back!

New Mexico influences Mexican restaurant with all the favorites, such as tacos, enchiladas & burritos, and some specialties like green chilie stew and daily specials. The guacamole is outstanding, and the flour tortillas are heavenly. Excellent service – even with our large group with lots of kids. Decor makes you feel like you’re in New Mexico without being kitschy.

Took our nieces Lauren and Emme out for their favorite food. Mexican. Haven’t been to Boxcar in a long time. Not sure why as the food has always been great. The restaurant was jammed. We went at 6:00 and waited a half hour. They were great moving people along.We started with the guacamole which was excellent. They also give you salsa and plentiful amount of chips.The tacos were really good especially the pork ones. 4 tacos come with an order. The quesadelias were excellent.Service was over the top. Wonderful place with the most authentic New Mexican cuisine I can find in Greenwich. The great atmosphere provides a cozy feel. In terms of speed and service, it’s about what you might expect. However it does tend to get extraordinarily crowded, especially on weekends.

I went back to Boxcar Cantina this past Friday and had a great experience. We ordered guacamole and salsa to share. The serving size of the guacamole is still small for the cost, but we are in Greenwich and also in an insane economy. I ordered the Mexican Salad with Grilled Organic Chile-Crusted Salmon (instead of the chicken it comes with), and my fiancé ordered the Beef Burrito. The food was very good. I especially liked the organic options. What made the night amazing was the excellent service. Both the waiter and host were very friendly. I did not respond to the owner to give a heads up I was coming, as I did not want to receive special treatment in hopes that I updated my review. This will be a regular spot for us in the future. I love the relaxed environment. Perfect for a Friday night

Been here many times. Sangria is my favorite at this place. I’ve tried many things on the menu and all are decent it’s just I’m not a Tex mex kind of person. I love their pozole soup, I have to get it everytime I go even in the summer. I will say that their bread pudding if your lucky to get a piece is to die for. Staff is always friendly.

Food was great as was the margarita. I went for lunch mid week and service was quick. I told the waiter I only had about 45 minutes and it wasn’t a problem. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back. Also they have a parking lot which is very convenient when on a timed lunch hour.

Really good Mexican restaurant in a casual setting. Well prepared meals served with fresh ingredients. When the guacamole and chips are fresh and tasty, you know how the rest of the meal will usually go! Really enjoyed the shrimp fajita and margarita after the guac and chips. Lots of menu choices. Reasonably priced but not inexpensive. I would recommend a visit if you would like a good Mexican meal!

Such good Tex-Mex food! Highly recommend the chicken enchiladas, or the fish tacos. Great spot, and really cool southwestern themed atmosphere! This place is also great for families.

You must try their shrimp fajita, omg they’re so good. And the service was incredible too. Come here for a great night out with some delicious food.

Me and a couple girlfriends came here on Wednesday… first timers. The food and margs were so good and the service was awesome. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. Can’t wait to go back!

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in town! The food is amazing and ambiance seems authentic. The staff are also very friendly. Gets a little too loud sometimes, but it’s the dinner rush, so that’s somewhat understandable.

Great casual Mexican. Great drinks! Best in the area imo. Separate small bar too. Kid friendly The food is amazing and would recommend trying them out when you have a chance.

Boxcar is absolutely amazing! Great family restaurant, (recommend the pony express for kids), and their food is so good! They also have a bar and serve margaritas. Awesome!

We love this place for local Tex-Mex. The food is fantastic and sustainably sourced, frequently from local purveyors. It can be noisy when busy, but great for families and the staff are always friendly and gracious. Try the tortilla soup and pork tacos!

Amazing little spot. The food is unbelievably fresh and the drinks are amazing. Definitely order a margarita. The bar can get a tiny bit packed during the summer but there are no complaints to be had.

Love going here when I’m in the area getting my car serviced. One of the best mexican style places within 100 miles. Everything is fresh and authentic. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet and I doubt I ever will.
